The MathTech World program employs a unique approach that combines a state-of-the art, technology driven curriculum within a strong academic structure.
Motivating, hands-on special project activities, guest speakers, character education, service learning, critical-thinking enrichment activities, and blogging round out students' experience.
The result -- students experience science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning in a whole new way!
Character Education ~ Enrichment ~ Service Learning
Character Education ~ Socialized learning activities and modeling provide students with tools for navigate social issues and making positive choices related to perseverance, responsibility, and respect. Community guest speakers provided real-life object lessons of character education concepts and facilitated invigorating, thought-provoking discussions.
Critical Thinking Enrichment Activities ~ Students engage in group activities, puzzles, and games designed to enhance their critical thinking skills –skills vital for success in learning math and math related subject matter.
Service Learning ~ Students are engaged in a year-long project that will result in them gaining an experiential-level knowledge of the importance of math and math-related skills to the community and potentially to them, as it relates to their future and future earning potential. Students will conduct research that they will develop into a public service message to share with fellow students via a YouTube video.
