Program Overview: The program provides Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) curriculum based, targeted academic instruction in mathematics, supported by socialization enrichment activities that links academic learning to, real-world experiences and outcomes. Hands-on special projects incorporate science & engineering, while enhancing critical thinking skills. Character education lessons are enhanced by guest speakers that model and discuss characteristics of success. Technology-infused lessons provide differentiated math learning, while special projects provide important exposure to real-life applications of logic and critical thinking in a fun, yet challenging learning environment. Booster sessions integrate family literacy workshops 

During the 6-week summer session, students engaged in intense 5-pronged program, designed to work on improving math skills through a process concentrated,curriculum-based instruction, combined with a unique set of social and real-world learning experiences. Students engaged in math, special projects (video game creation, forensics, robotics, computer engineering), character education, critical thinking enrichment activities, and the foundation of a year-long, service learning projects. The Saturday (every other Saturday) school-year program continues where students' academically where they left off, reinforcing the motivation, social and academic skills developed in the summer with scientifically-based, technology driven, virtual manipulative math instruction and an Maryland School Assessment/High School Assessment and classroom skills emphasis.  See curriculum for more...
